Developing Skills That Go Beyond the Field

At the Mihaljevic Soccer School, we not only teach students about soccer, we teach them the skills they need to be successful in life. Through soccer instruction your child will have a ball and learn:

Teamwork, Focus, Perseverence,
Commitment, Self-Confidence and Much More!

The lessons learned on the field carry over to each and every facet of your child's experience for a lifetime. The benefits of our soccer instruction can help your child develop the skills needed for success in today's world in a fun, team environment .

Learn from Joe Mihaljevic - a Former Professional

The Mihaljevic Soccer School is a year-round school aimed at developing each child's unique talents. Regardless of skill level, our program adds a whole new dimension to each student's soccer ability.

Only offered in the Sacramento Valley by former professional soccer player Joe Mihaljevic, students gain from the experience and guidance of a accomplished and successful athlete.

Soccer is broken down into 3 specific areas: technique, tactics and physical conditioning.  Your child's training will include instruction in the following areas:   Technical Training, Tactics, & Physical Conditioning.

Technical Training

Movements with the ball

  • Kicking (shooting, passing)
  • Receiving the ball (trapping)
  • Heading
  • Dribbling
  • Feinting
  • Tackling
  • Throwing-in

Movements without the ball

  • Running and changing direction
  • Jumping
  • Feinting without the ball

Tactics - Offensive and Defensive

  • Individual Tactics
  • Collective Tactics
  • Team Tactics
  • Tactics Applied by a Part of the Team

Physical Conditioning

Through drills, games and guidance, students will increase their ball handling skills and coordination.  Our instruction will also help students learn to develop the skills to assess soccer situations, make decisions and adjust their approach as necessary.  These skills are valuable not only on the soccer field, but it also helps develop leaders and good decision making abilities in life.  ~ Joe Mihaljevic
