Empire Chess Club

Coach Joe's second greatest passion is Chess. Playing Chess with his father since childhood, Coach Joe has become a formidable Chess Player and was once ranked in the 1800s when a member of a Bay Area chess club and competing in tournaments.

"I would have to dedicate my life to playing Chess to become close to being a Master. Now that I have a family and the soccer school & comp club, it has become a favorite and addictive hobby." ~Coach Joe

Coach Joe also enjoys reading & re-enacting Grand Master Chess games, playing Chess with his children, as well as on the Internet with other Chess fanatics from all over the world and with his students at the Folsom Sports Complex.

Chess & Soccer for Home-Schoolers (ages 6-16):

The first hour of this program is dedicated to teaching chess followed by an hour of soccer to exercise the mind and body.

Fee: $67 / $60 Resident Discount
